I painted the famous Bia de' Medici, by Agnolo Bronzino, in Contrasting colours, using the technique of layering, blending & scumbling and the background using Sgraffito.

MEANING OF WORDS 

  • contrasting colours: colours that is opposite each other on the colour wheel

  • layering: applying paint in layers

  • blending: combining colours to create a smooth look

  • scumbling: a thin coat of paint to give a softer effect

  • sgraffito: scratching the upper layer of paint to reveal the lower layer of a contrasting colour
